STIGA Group, new headquarter in Castelfranco Veneto

Castelfranco Veneto, 29 June 2017_Today the laying of the first stone ceremony of the new STIGA Group headquarters took place at Castelfranco Veneto. STIGA, leading company in Europe in the production and distribution of lawn mowers and gardening tools, former Global Garden Products, maintains and strengthens its presence in the region and chooses to invest once again in the Treviso area.

This morning, the Group presented the project of the new headquarters in the presence of the Group CEO, Georg Metz, the Top Management, the members of the International Board, the Project Managers, the Mayor of Castelfranco Veneto and President of the Province of Treviso, Stefano Marcon, and the Vice-President of Unindustria Treviso, Sabrina Carraro.

An investment of about 5 million euros is forecasted for the new building which will be constructed in compliance with environmental regulations in the area in front of the actual premises with a total surface area of 2.000m2. Over 80% of the construction material will be recyclable: the building will be equipped with a photovoltaic system and a Pulsion Thermo-Technic Plant with internal air recycling. The materials used will be assembled and supplied by local companies coming from the area of Castelfranco Veneto. It is expected to be completed by 31st August 2018.

Georg Metz, the Group CEO, commented, “I want to thank our exceptional team at Castelfranco and in all the subsidiaries of the STIGA Group in Europe and in Asia. Without their passion and creativity today’s achievement would have been impossible. They allow us to look towards a glorious future with confidence. I hope that the new building will be a place of growth and success.”

The new space will create new job opportunities. 30 new hirings are expected, ten in R&D and sourcing in order to reinforce the technical competences which are necessary to work on the innovation of the products. Another ten in the commercial sector including sales, after sales and marketing and another ten in production, finance, HR and ICT.

“The ability to do business and look with trust to the future,” declared the Mayor of Castelfranco Veneto and president of the Province of Treviso, Stefano Marcon, “has always characterised our region. I thank and congratulate the management of STIGA Group for having chosen Castefranco Veneto and the Treviso Region. The new headquarters, which I hope will soon become a beacon in this sector on a European level, is now a solid opportunity for the building industry and will soon become a precious open door for new employment.”

Global Garden Products, one of the 10 companies with the highest turnover in the Treviso region, in the past days announced a change of name to STIGA as the premium brand among the 5 in its portfolio (along with Castelgarden, Alpina, ATCO and Mountfield). The company, with more than 600 employees in Veneto (200 at Castelfranco and 422 at Campigo) with seasonal peaks that exceed 800 employees, confirms its Italian roots by building the new headquarters at Via Lavoro 6, Castelfranco Veneto, where it has resided for many years in what was the historical base of Castelgarden followed by GGP.
